This is the Hobart building, taken from Market street, that angled street that cuts right through the middle of San Francisco starting at the ferry building. When looking up, it gives the impression that the buildings are strangely out of alignment. Oh, and that white sky...the fog of course!
This is the setting sun on the city with the ferry building on the left, the sky was beautiful...Yes, I loved taking the ferry while in San Francisco!! Can you tell?
So this was bone-chilling at the thought...this is San Quentin, otherwise known as deathrow. Passed everytime I took the ferry from Larkspur into town.
Yup...the original is in San Francisco. In one of its fine art museums, the one known as the Legion of Honor atop a hill in Lincoln park with a spectacular view of the Pacific and the Golden Gate bridge...unfortunately it was closed that day, so the front door is as far as I got and Rodin's thinker greeted me in the Legion's outdoor court of honor. My jaw scraped the pavement!
The infamous San Francisco fog is responsible for funky ferry rides like this one. I loved it. Like a wall, on one side, there was the sun and heat, then poof, through the equivalent of a lanlocked cloud we would go and come out the other side onto the city.
