A few days ago, YMC let out a scream, told everyone to grab a camera and to look towards the south shore... This is what was in the sky. A rainbow so huge, its beginning looked vertical. Just imagine the pot of gold at the end of this one!
This is the second of my abstract photos. Again, I didn't get what I wanted (probably a moving cruise boat out of the port at night) so I moved the camera on the tripod, but the exposure for that particular photo wasn't over. Thought this one looked like a fire.
I am not particularly drawn to abstract photography, but I have two shots that are really interesting and strange. I wanted to take one of these infamous "nightshots" and something went wrong and I moved the tripod before the exposure was over (I usually go for 20 to 30 second exposure time on these). And I got these duck heads!
I know I seem to take only night shots, but the reason is actually quite simple. It's the only time I had free this summer! This one was taken on the 2nd of July. The crowd on PJC was huge and the hustle and bustle is amazing to spy on from above. Always long exposures, so the blur on St-Paul are the car lights.
I always wanted to take pictures of lightning. I saw the storm approaching, just planted my tripod, set the d100 for really long exposure and waited. Go two shots. This one, the architecture is fuzzy, but the three strands of light are perfect.
Another night shot from the roof. The exposure was at least 20 secs, the fireworks must have exploded rather late in that timeframe. I like the "crispness" of the lights.
The biosphere from the roof at night. I like the eerie feeling it gives off, sort of a glow. The traditional architecture of the buildings in front contrast well with the seemingly extraterrestrial look of the globe.
