So yes, the girls are racers in the Bullrun race. From left to right we have Tila Tequila, Kritine Elezaj and Jennifer Nicole. The race start was on Place Jacques Cartier. The race can be followed on the bullrun blog. More photographs in my Bullrun album on the right!
This was the beginning of the arrival on PJC of the March for social justice yesterday. I heard 3 000 from someone and 10 000 from YMC...YMC was more in the ballpark, I think the final count was 12 000. "Noir de monde" is a perfectly appropriate saying for the quantity of people hanging out on PJC yesterday! Create a postcard
This statue has been here as long as the parc, that is to say not all that long...I remember a time when the park La Dauversière (right across the street from Montreal city hall) was a yucky concrete parking lot, always full on top and stinky dark and drenched in garbage on the bottom level where the homeless would unfortunately come to rest. Now the homeless have a great park with nice benches (?) and this infamous statue of our former Maire Drapeau.
I love the reflection of the light on the glass, they almost seem to disappear when they come in contact with the white tablecloth underneath them. The effect of infinity is inspired by the shallow depth of field. This punctual visual sharpness also gives the feeling of being in another world, or like my mum used to say "tu es dans la lune". It makes the surrounding world literally and figuratively fade away, leaving me with a concentrate of what I am focusing on.
I've been trying out the raw format and wrapping my head around the concept and the infamous "workflow"... sorry about the techno jargon... Funky "10-cent words" apart, I like the idea and the flexibility it gives me, but in this case the end product is still a jpg. So about the mini colanders...french fries are served in them, the homemade kind, that look like wedges.
