This statue has been here as long as the parc, that is to say not all that long...I remember a time when the park La Dauversière (right across the street from Montreal city hall) was a yucky concrete parking lot, always full on top and stinky dark and drenched in garbage on the bottom level where the homeless would unfortunately come to rest. Now the homeless have a great park with nice benches (?) and this infamous statue of our former Maire Drapeau.
Finally, another dog's eye view shot. I loved the mini tile at the bottom of the wall and again...my favorite, the vignetting (I swear, completely unplanned). I like the green-yellow of the wall and the wood of the door in contrast with the red mini tiles. Place Royale, east-side, closer to de la Commune they just left the door open!
Depth of field is kinda nice (strictly opinion here!) and the steps in this public place have a nice geometric set-up, not like regular granite stairs...feeling like a dog yet? Yea, I know, where is the quintessential fire hydrant? If I find a nice one, I won't hesitate. Again, this pic taken with the Holga. Place Royale, right behind the boutique of the Pointe-à-Callière Museum.
I like the cobble stones under the windows and the shape of the cast iron window dressing, oh and let's not forget that little bit of greenery coming out between the rocks (yeaa..spring!). The holga worked particularly well in this case, fun depth of field. I'm always surprised at the colours I obtain with this great little plastic toy camera. Definitely a little light leak top right had corner. Connecting alley from Place Royale to St-François Xavier, parallel to and in between St-Paul and De la Commune.
