The Aluminium tree

I love this tree-structure.  It happens to be right outside our brand spankin' new llibrary (corner DeMaisonneuve and Berri), which, by the way, I love very much also. 

The "Flag" in the parc

This statue has been here as long as the parc, that is to say not all that long...I remember a time when the park La Dauversière (right across the street from Montreal city hall) was a yucky concrete parking lot, always full on top and stinky dark and drenched in garbage on the bottom level where the homeless would unfortunately come to rest.  Now the homeless have a great park with nice benches (?) and this infamous statue of our former Maire Drapeau. 

Pointing Chenier

I found this statue looked out of place sandwiched between the Videotron buildling and a soon to be disapearing park and parking lot.  The pointed arm makes me want to give it some sort of "philosophical meaning"..but hey, lack of inspiration today.

 

The reclining gods

I had never noticed these two loungers until I forced myself to click around a certain part of Old Montreal...yanked out my zoom and found the whole thing quite enchanting!  On top of the old "Dawson College Viger Campus" building down on Viger near Berri.  I will try to investigate to figure out who they are.

A dog's eye view - big puddle

I decided to sepia tone this one...I find the reflection in the water interesting.  Taken with the Holga.  Right off Place Royale in Old Montreal.  Should have fresh batch of shots tomorrow..yea!

Nelson & his stairs

I thought it gave him a context with the stairs of the building to right.  The repetitive pattern - the bricks the windows and the stairs, contrast with a statue, making a incongruous scene.  The zoom was necessary because the column is so high.  Even seeing Nelson is a difficult feat at any distance!

The little boy in the car

A precious picture of a very precious person. I try to see the person he is today in the little boy he was back then, as well as the little boy he was back then in the person he is today.

The orange tree

This is a beautifully lit tree right across the way from my window.  Against the stone wall with that orange lighting and that window, give off an unusual look, especially since we cannot see the source of the orange light.
